Apps is the gallery of mini-apps your team has built with App Studio. Each app is a lightweight, purpose-built tool - a what-if calculator, a department scorecard, a hiring cost comparison - that runs on real Novaplan data and respects your role’s permissions exactly as the rest of the platform does.

What this screen is for

The gallery gives every finance team member a front door to the custom tools relevant to their work. Apps built by admins or peers appear here once published. You can open any app, interact with its inputs, and see results computed directly from your data - with no spreadsheets, no exports, and no special access required.

How to use it

Browse the gallery

Scroll or search to find apps published by your team. Featured apps appear at the top. You can filter by category (headcount, revenue, planning, and so on) or search by name.

Open an app

Click any card to open the app. The app loads with its inputs at default values and computes results against your data immediately.

Adjust the inputs

Use the input controls the app provides - a date range, a department picker, a numeric assumption - to explore different scenarios. Results update in real time.

Save favorites and share

Upvote or bookmark an app you return to often. Share a direct link to the app with colleagues - the link preserves the input state so you can hand off a specific view.

Permissions and data access

Apps run entirely under your own permissions. If your role masks salary detail, an app that shows loaded costs will show the same masked values you see elsewhere in Novaplan. An app can never reveal a figure you could not see in the main platform.

Tips

  • If you want a tool that does not exist yet, use App Builder to describe it to Nova - no code required.
  • The “Saved” filter shows apps you have favorited so you do not have to search each time.
  • Each app’s listing page shows exactly which Novaplan data sources and metrics it reads, so you can verify what is powering the numbers before you use them.
App Studio apps are additive: they read the same governed data as the rest of Novaplan and cannot write back to your plans. Use them freely for exploration.
